Olga and Sergio have been together for almost 18 years. Olga moved to Roatán almost 20 years ago and Sergio moved to Roatán almost 25 years ago. They have four beautiful daughters: Darlin is 15 years old, and she is in 8th grade; she studies on the weekends. Karla is 13 years old, and she is also in 8th grade; she goes to school daily. Danisa is 10 years old, and she is in 5th grade. Deira is 6 years old, and she is in 1st grade.

Olga grew up with both of her parents as the 3rd child of 9 children. Olga had the opportunity to attend up to 6th grade, but unfortunately her parents couldn’t afford to send her to high school. Olga used to help her parents who worked as farmers. She did it for a couple of years to help bring a little bit of more income to their home, but unfortunately she was not making enough to support her parents. A couple of years later, she decided to get a job outside of her home. Olga worked as a housekeeper for many years. She took a little break to take care of her daughters when they were little, but now that all of her daughters go to school, she decided to get back to work to help support her husband with their home expenses. Olga works as 2 part time jobs as a housekeeper. She makes around $120 monthly.

Sergio grew up with both of his parents as well and his 6 siblings. He only had the opportunity to study through the 2nd grade, enough for him to learn how to read and write. Sergio’s parents barely made enough money to feed their family; they worked as farmers. Sergio, alongside his siblings, helped their dad grow beans, corn, bananas, etc. However, they only made enough money to supply their basic needs, which did not include education. Sergio has worked most of their married years as a construction helper. Currently, he still works as a construction helper earning around $16 each day.

Daily, Olga and Sergio work as hard as they can to give their daughters a different life than the one they had growing up. They dream of someday building for their daughters a secure and comfortable place to live in. Let’s be a helping hand for this beautiful family. Let’s build a home for them!
