The Johnson/Jordan Family Build - July 2025 - Homes for the Orellana Hernández and the Orellana Castillo Families.

The Orellana Hernández Family
Keydi & Jose have been married for 7 years and have 2 children. Liam (7) is in first grade and has a disability on his right hand, which looks like a foot. Liam and his family have suffered because of his disability, and it is hard because people make fun of him. However Keydi teaches her little boy that he should love himself just the way he is. Adil (2) is full of energy and very loving. His favorite pastime is coloring and playing soccer with his brother Liam. His grandma watches him while the parents are at work. Keydi was raised by a single mother who always taught her to be a hard worker from a very young age. Keydi's mother is a professional nurse and Keydi's greatest hero. Currently Keydi works in a clothing store as a cashier and is paid $550 a month for 12 hours of work each day. When Jose was only 16, his mother died, and his father kicked him out of the house. He lived with his brother, working in a supermarket warehouse in order to survive. Currently Jose works in a hardware store in Bodega, also earning $550 a month.
The Orellana Castillo Family
Wilmer & Maritza have been married for over 7 years, and they have 2 daughters. Iveth (14) attends 8th grade on weekends at the Roatan Institute, and Gabriela (16) did not study this year because she has been helping her parents sell meat and vegetables to be able to pay for Iveth's school, the land, and the family's needs. Wilmer & Maritza are dedicated to selling meat and vegetables on bicycles with their daughters in order to survive. Currently they live in the community of Cañaveral with Wilmer’s cousin; she gave them the opportunity to live there so they can pay for land for a future home. Maritza moved to the island 11 years ago, where she later met Wilmer. Wilmer has been a wonderful father to her two daughters, and Maritza is happy to finally be with someone who respects her and loves her daughters. Wilmer was raised by his maternal grandmother. She was the one who taught Wilmer to be an entrepreneur because they sold in the town everything they grew in the field. At 17 he decided to move to Roatan. He met Maritza seven years ago. Together they started their business selling meat and vegetables, which has supported their family. They work hard and do not give up. They are also instilling this hard-working spirit in their two daughters.
